Camil's work is in the permanent collection of the Jumex Collection (Mexico City, Mexico), the Patricia Phelps de Cisneros Collection (New York, United States), the Center Pompidou (Paris, France), the Kadist Collection (Paris , France), and the Blanton Museum of Art (Austin, United States), among others.

Camil's work is often associated with the Mexican urban landscape, a critical approach to the legacy of modernism and the politics of consumerism. In his recent work he emphasizes the importance of the collectivity through public participation.
